These positions are located in the Division of Administration, Acquisition Services Branch of the FDIC responsible for the planning, organizing and directing all phases of the contracting process in the Strategy, Governance, and Integration (SGI) Section or the IT Infrastructure and Security Section.

Duties
The Strategy, Governance, and Integration (SGI) Section provides enhanced governance and oversight of procurement and contract administration to the FDIC through a variety of functions including agency quality assurance and internal controls audits, strategic ASB portfolio management, management of customer and stakeholder programs, acquisition career management, and risk management. The IT Infrastructure and Security Section is responsible for awards and administers contracts related to and in support of FDIC IT Infrastructure and IT Security.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Basic Requirements:
At least 4-years of experience in contracting or related positions. At least one year of that experience must have been specialized experience equivalent to the grade 13, or higher, in the Federal service as defined below; and
A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree, that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in any combination of accounting, business, finance law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management; OR
EXCEPTION: Employees in GS-1102 positions will be considered to have met the standard for positions they occupy on January 1, 2000. This also applies to positions at the same grade in the same agency or other agencies if the specialized experience requirements are met. However, they will have to meet the basic requirements and specialized experience requirements in order to qualify for promotion to a higher grade.
Experience: In addition to the Basic Requirements, to qualify, applicants must have completed one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as directing and managing acquisition activities in support of agency-wide contract and procurement programs, including administration of contract and procurement actions.
