This position is located in Engineering Service, Operations & Maintenance shop, for the Department of Veterans Affairs Ambulatory Care Center (VAACC) Columbus, Ohio. The purpose of this position is to supervise workers directly in accomplishing work of the function.
Duties
On a continuous basis, long range, quarterly, and annual basis, determines personnel, materials, equipment and facilities needed; establishes basic priority and work sequences and maintains balanced workloads among subordinate units through proper distribution of work projects and allotment of time, manpower, equipment and materials.
Directly responsible for all personnel and administrative matters involving the Maintenance Shop of the Engineering Service.
Within the limits of policies, regulations and procedures established by directives and by management, has authority for personnel and administrative actions and administers a variety of management programs such as training, cost reduction, suggestion awards and quality and quantity control.
Participates in establishment of local policies for achieving management objectives and goals and represents management on such matters as required.
Plans, schedules and prioritizes the work assignments for periods of several months - and makes recommendations for short range, organizational and operational improvements.
Directly supervises the Maintenance shop within the facility. This includes Maintenance Mechanics, carpenters, Locksmith, Painters, and Laborers.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
