About the Position: This is a Military Technician position with the 63rd Readiness Division, Area Maintenance Support Activity 96, located at Phoenix, Arizona. This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set. Duties

Plan work schedules. Establish deadlines and priorities. Assign tasks to employees and make adjustments as necessary. Review work for accuracy and compliance with standards. Investigate and correct productivity problems for an efficient work environment. Identify training needs of employees. Provide instruction, direction and guidance to employees. Counsel employees on problems and/or complaints and union representation. Initiate proposals for disciplinary actions. Schedule and approve leave. Interview candidates for vacant positions and provide recommendations for selection. Develop performance standards.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).
  • This position is subject to Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements.
  • This position requires a Class A CDL within 180 days of employment.
  • This position requires a medical examination prior to employment.

Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)Ability To Lead or SuperviseAbility To Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)Trouble ShootingUse of Measuring Instruments Physical Effort Required: Work requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, stretching, climbing, and crouching. Works on top of, under, or in tight compartments of equipment in cramped and awkward positions. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds and often exerts similar effort in pushing, pulling, and positioning part assemblies and equipment. Occasionally lifts heavier items with the assistance of other workers or with lifting devices such as jacks, hoists, and cranes. Work is sometimes performed from ladders or work platforms at varying heights. Working Conditions: Work is performed inside and occasionally outside. The employee must frequently stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time. Employee may be exposed to drafts, dirt, grease, oils, and vehicle exhaust fumes. Subject to burns, cuts, scrapes, bruises, and strains.
