You will serve as a Insulator Leader in the Pipe Shop (Code 960) Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will assist with the completion of timely quality work and assure proper inter-trade and inter-shop coordination. You will utilize shipyard instruction and processes to provide on the job training for workers and prepare work progress reports. You will ensure safe work practices and good housekeeping and timely tool, equipment. material, and procedure availability. You will articulate knowledge and skill to co-workers working on insulation components/systems.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE - Assuring proper adherence to procedures and guidelines of insulating systems and equipment and the use of operational theory and check-out procedures. - Performing journeyman level nuclear insulator duties (layout, fabrication, and installation of insulation on low and high temperature piping systems, tanks, boilers, reactor plant equipment). - Utilizing information from blueprints, sketches, and documents to plan and execute work task.
