Duties
Electronically produce a variety of documentation such as correspondence, technical reports, specifications, operating procedures, statistical data, and charts ensuring proper spelling, punctuation, capitalization, grammar, and format.
Maintain a calendar of activities for a group to include, scheduling meetings, leave, travel, and other commitments.
Electronically input timekeeping, travel, and training records.
Refer visitors or callers to the proper office depending on the nature of the query.
Receive and distribute electronic and hardcopy mail.
Transmit correspondence and other typed material to various offices in Reclamation utilizing both hardcopy and the electronic telecommunication system(s).
Perform various clerical support functions such as photocopying, filing, typing forms, etc.
Qualifications
In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.
To qualify at the GS-06, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-05 level in federal service having demonstrated experience screening and referring visitors and phone calls; creating and reviewing correspondence for grammar and format; and creating or maintaining files/records.
This position requires a qualified typist who can type at least 40 words per minute.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including time-in-grade restrictions and any selective placement factors if applicable, by 12/14/2023.
Education
This position does not allow substituting education for experience.
