You will serve as a IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the JOINT MISSION OPERATIONS CENTER (JMOC) of U S MARINE FORCES CYBERSPACE COMMAND.

Duties

You will be responsible for working within the SOC section while coordinating efforts with the SOC Operations, Digital Forensics Incident Response Team, DCO Engineers, Threat Intelligence, and Threat Hunt Teams. You will utilize client-monitoring consoles to monitor tools supplied by the client remotely. You will provide information on previous malicious network attacks, performing triage on events reported by various detection devices to filter out false positives and known, accepted activities.

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance and must obtain and maintain NSA badging for NIPR/SIPR/NSANet accounts.
  • A Counterintelligence Polygraph is required, and a non-disclosure agreement must be signed. Failure to retain this level of security clearance and access will be grounds for reassignment, demotion, or removal from the Federal Service
  • Employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and subsequent periodic drug screening thereafter.
  • The incumbent may be required to perform occasional travel (25% or less) which may involve the use of commercial and/or government aircraft.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is not telework eligible.
  • This position may require shift work, weekend, holiday work, overtime, and irregular hours.
  • This position is designated as a Mission Essential(ME) Position.

Qualifications

You are required to have information technology (IT) related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include recognizing information gaps and then quickly fill those gaps by asking the appropriate stakeholder or subject matter experts theappropriate questions, all in order to make better informed decisions. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT related experience demonstrating this competency include maintaining positive communications with key personnel involved in the execution of operations. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include conducting daily synchronization meetings to key leadership. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include coordinating with all entities/adjacent organizations to ensure external operational requirements are authorized and available for use during rehearsals and/or operations. In addition to your experience demonstrating the four competencies above, you are required to have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by evaluating the risk each operation poses to infrastructure and using information collected from a variety of computer network defense resources to identify, analyze, and report events that occur or might occur within their environment. This position is within the Work Category PROFESSIONAL at Work Level FULL PERFORMANCE, Series and Grade GG-2210-13.
