About the Position: This position will be assigned to the Civilian Human Resources Agency (CHRA), AMCOM Civilian Human Resources Service Center (CHRSC) providing full Human Resources servicing to the Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD). Corpus Christi is located on the Gulf of Mexico surrounded by beaches, parks, and marinas.

Duties

Provide guidance on merit system principles, prohibited personnel practices, and the development and use of valid selection criteria. Prepare vacancy announcements, and produce referral lists, Screen requests for personnel action and related documents for completeness and accuracy, verify employment eligibility, qualifications, salary determinations and set pay. Manage and maintain full visibility over all Request for Personnel Actions (RPAs) from cradle to grave and provide advise/assistance in all stages of the recruitment process.

  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience working in federal civilian Human Resources (HR) determining qualifications, developing recruitment strategies, job analysis, announcements, referrals, and coding a wide range of personnel actions using appropriate hiring authorities and pay setting procedures; utilizing various automated HR systems; and researching, interpreting and applying federal civilian HR principles, laws and regulations in staffing and recruitment/placement to provide civilian HR advisory services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: HR Information Systems ApplicationOral CommunicationProblem SolvingStaffing and Recruiting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
