About the Position: The Military Entrance Processing Station plays a vital role in maintaining the nation's military might by ensuring that each new member of the Armed Forces: Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force & Coast Guard; meets the high mental, moral & medical standards required by the DoD & the military services. Every MEPS represents state of the art in testing, examining & processing applicants for enlistment into the Armed Forces. This position will be filled on a permanent basis.

Duties

Serve as the Executive Director to the Battalion Commander of a Military Entrance Processing Battalion. Work closely with the Senior Enlisted Advisor to advise the BN Commander. Assume certain delegated command authorities prescribed by the BN Commander. Supervise on the integration of risk management for the battalion staff.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Conducting studies/analyses to assess the impact of policy alternatives on Command operations; Reviewing processes and procedures to ensure operational effectiveness of organization's programs; Advising subordinate locations on civilian personnel program policies and procedures; Assisting in forecasting budget needs of the organization; Leading a team though the steps from inception to completion of a complex project. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementCompliance InspectionCustomer ServiceLeadershipOrganizational Awareness Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
