You will serve as a Motor Vehicle Operator of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK.
Duties
You will load and unload trucks/trailers with material observing safe handling procedures using manual or mechanical means and delivers material to sites by the most expeditious route.
You will operates motor vehicles to transport material throughout the base and public roads/highways for long and short hauls on a routine basis.
You will operate gasoline or diesel powered vehicles.
You will select proper temporary storage locations for incoming material.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current MHE and FLO license.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications

I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks, as demonstrated though experience working under limited supervision, including transport material throughout public roads/highways for long and short hauls on routine basis; Use pre-operational inspection checklist to ensure fuel supply and other conditions; receive, store, assemble for issue and delivery by motor vehicle of a variety of bin and bulk supplies, material and equipment; loads and unloads trucks/trailers with material observing safe handling procedures using manual or mechanical means and delivers material to sites by the most expeditious route, observing all traffic laws and regulations; selects proper temporary storage locations for incoming material; reports overages, shortages, or damaged conditions to supervisor; identify proper weight distribution requirements according to conveyance to prevent damage during transport; operate gasoline and/or electric forklifts, handling or transporting Hazardous materials; I possess a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a hazmat endorsement.
