You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY DATA SCIENTIST, OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST (CHIEF PRODUCT OWNER) in the Air Systems Group, Logistics Department, Readiness & Fleet Analytics Division, Advanced Analytics & Innovation Branch of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Duties
You will serve as a data scientist subject matter expert and technical leader within the AB36200 branch. Lead, teach, and mentor the product owners by providing cross-product technical direction and agile development training.
You will facilitate and make recommendations to assist the branch head and section heads with the definition of requirements and identification of proper skill sets required to execute products and services within the branch.
You will research, investigate, and facilitate the submittal of proposals each fiscal year to create research and development opportunities within the branch to innovate and prototype advanced data science products for the fleet.
You will support both the Readiness and Fleet Analytics Division and NAWCAD ASG leadership, as well as FST and program office (PMA) leadership.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12-13 grade level or DP-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.Using and applying data scientific techniques, methods, and tools to extract data to identify patterns, and/or make predictions on future outcomes; 2. Utilizing the Scrum/ agile development framework to lead teams of interdisciplinary engineers and scientists to build data analytical products; 3. Identifying the various stages to data science development and how SQL, R, or Python computer programming languages are used to build analytical tools; and 4. Designing and developing user-centric interactive reports, dashboards, and visualization solutions using SQL, R, or Python programming languages, and Tableau or Qlik visualization tools.

For the GS-1515, Professional Operations Research Series:
A. Have a bachelor's or higher degree in operations research.
or
B. Have successfully completed a bachelor's or higher degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics and at least 3 of the 24 semester hours are in calculus.
For the GS-1560, Data Science Series:
A. Have a bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or a field directly related to the position.
or
B. Have a combination of education and experience, where my courses are equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or a field directly related to the position, plus additional education or appropriate experience that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
