You will serve as a ELECTROPLATER in the MRO PRODUCTION DEPT PROD LINES DIV of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Duties

You will assign tasks to shop personnel and checks work in progress to assure procedures, methods, and practices are consistent with established policy and that standards are met. You will ensure that safe work practices and general good housekeeping procedures are followed and that materials and equipment are properly and safely stored, protected, and maintained. You will communicate from higher authority to other employees and urging compliance with procedures to meet deadlines. You will troubleshooting and experimenting with electroplating processes.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION Identify ferrous and non-ferrous metals and plate them with chromium, cadmium, silver, tin, aluminum, nickel and copper or other metals or alloys; Inspect parts and determine the best methods to accomplish specific plating tasks; Determine the need for special adaptation or modification of standard operating methods, procedures and techniques; Prepare parts for plating by immersing them in various acids, alkaline and solvent solutions; Control flow of electricity by means of rheostats and computers; Prepare and test strengths of electroplating solutions; Determine the cause of equipment or process failure and make corrections or adjustments; Measure completed dimensions and plating thicknesses with micrometers, calipers and magnetic gauges.
