About the Position: This position will be filled at the GS-09, GS-10 or GS-11 level. If selected at the GS-09 or GS-10 level, noncompetitive promotion to the full performance level is authorized.
Serve as a Production Controller for the planning, production, and overhaul of major ordnance items.
Duties
Monitor movement of priority material.
Plan, coordinate, implement and advise on material requirements through all manufacturing phases.
Analyze status reports.
Coordinate work projects of assigned programs.
Provide production support for projects.
Plan production for projects and/or areas of responsibility.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Qualifications
Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or detail NTE 12 months by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
Employees are not eligible for a detail in the OCONUS area unless already residing in the same overseas area (foreign or non-foreign) as the position being filled.
Employees currently located in OCONUS (foreign or non-foreign) are not eligible for a detail to a CONUS position. If you are a current, Federal employee, you must include your pay plan, series and grade in your work experience(s) on your resume submission and/or upload supporting documentation (within-grade increase SF50) to show that you meet the time-in-grade requirement. In addition, if your step reflects '00', you must include your current salary for each position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Specialized experience for the GS-09:To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must described at least one year of experience at the next lower grade (GS-08), which prepared you to do the work of the position to be filled, such as assisting in correcting normal production problems to meet production completion deadlines; assisting in documenting stored material until ready for use to carry out production control assignments; and assisting in ordering manufacturing materials to ensure timely completion of production goals.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).
Specialized experience for the GS-10:To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must described at least one year of experience at the next lower grade (GS-09), which prepared you to do the work of the position to be filled, such as assisting in correcting normal production problems to meet production completion deadlines; assisting in documenting stored material until ready for use to carry out production control assignments; assisting in ordering manufacturing materials to ensure timely completion of production goals; and arranging for movement of material and prepares turn-in of unused materials/parts to the supply system.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
Specialized experience for the GS-11:To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must described at least one year of experience at the next lower grade (GS-10), which prepared you to do the work of the position to be filled, such as correcting complex production problems to meet production completion deadlines; documenting stored material until ready for use to carry out production control assignments; ordering manufacturing materials to ensure timely completion of production goals; attending a variety of meetings to give or obtain technical information; and managing picking of raw materials to ensure proper flow of work load coming into the cost center.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-10).
