This position is being announced under FEMA's Incident Management Assistant Team (IMAT) Program. This is a 4-year temporary appointment in the Excepted service. This position is located on a Type II, Regional/National IMAT and has a starting salary range of $58.42 per hour to $67.19 per hour; however, the maximum salary possible in this position is $75.91 per hour.  Salary listed includes locality pay.   • 24 hour on-call work schedule during emergency response periods required.

Qualifications

The qualification requirements listed below must be met within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. To qualify for this position at the IT-03 level (starting salary $58.42 per hour), your resume must clearly demonstrate at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (IT-02) in the Federal Service.  This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of the following specialized experience:  Developing and maintaining emergency response or recovery plans; Coordinating Federal and state agency capabilities and processes as they relate to: Transportation, Communications, Public Works, Engineering, Firefighting, Mass Care, Housing, Social Services, and Human Services; and, Leading a team by engaging in activities such as providing guidance, communicating priorities, and/or delegating authority. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your application must show that you meet all requirements for this position.
