About the Position: This position is located at Fort Meade, Maryland. Fort. Meade is located between Baltimore and Washington D.C. Ft. Meade is a hub for the joint services, Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines & Navy.

Duties

Perform a full range of both standard procedural and non-recurring/unusual visitor access assignments. Set up visitor control roster and badges accountability log, which is subject to quarterly and annual reviews and inventories. Operate and perform research queries on Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS).

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and sustain state certification for operating the NCIC terminals.

OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Advancement requirement to positions up to GS-5: Candidates may be advanced without time restrictions to positions up to GS-5 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment.
