This position is located with the HUD-VASH Program of the Healthcare for Homeless Veterans Program (HCHV) at the Boston VA Medical Center in Jamaica Plain, MA. The role of the position will be to assist the HCHV Director and HUD-VASH Program Manager to fulfill the outreach, clinical, research, and teaching missions of this complex service, with the principle objective of optimal utilization of staff, space, equipment, and operating funds.
Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provides administrative coordination for all HUD-VASH staff at 3 sites (Jamaica Plain, Causeway Street, and Brockton);
Serves as the timekeeper;
Provides personnel and financial management for the program;
Oversees compliance with budgetary management;
Reconciles monthly and ensures that all expenditures are properly authorized and documented;
Manages fund control points;
Performs management and/or program support work, such as program or office planning, evaluation of administrative programs or issues, training program administration, correspondence control, liaison or special projects;
Develops a system to control records on all incoming correspondence and action documents;
Assists with and monitors the timely submission of NEPEC data and reports;
Schedules meetings and records meeting minutes;
Performs other duties as assigned
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm

Qualifications
DRIVER'S LICENSE REQUIREMENT: This position requires a current, valid state driver's license. If an interview is requested, you may be required to provide a copy of your current, valid, and unrestricted state driver's license.
Typing Proficiency: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.
To qualify for this position at the GS-6 grade level, you must meet the following requirement:
Specialized Experience: You must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-5) in Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is performing office administration duties such as timekeeping, reception (greeting visitors and answering phones), preparing correspondence, utilizing Microsoft Excel, producing reports, and scheduling meetings. Note: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hour worked per week.

Physical Requirements: The duties and responsibilities of this position require mobility within the medical center. Ability to adjust to changes in procedure, work pressures, and deadlines is required. Work is performed in an administrative office setting. There may be contacts with gravely disturbed or seriously disoriented patients who can become violent or assaultive; therefore, safety precautions must be observed.
