This position serves in a developmental trainee capacity located within USDA Rural Development Office of the Florida State Director. The purpose of this position is to provide developmental assignments. in a variety of administrative and clerical duties.

Duties
Serve as a trainee observing, learning, and assisting others in performing a variety of routing tasks.
Gain experience and technical competence in the methods, procedures, principles, theories, and techniques utilized in administering RD loan and grant programs.
Provide information to the public; initiating and preparing correspondence; maintaining records, reports and files
assisting in application processing and servicing for Single Family (SFH) loans and grants, and/or Community Program (CP) loans and grants, and/or Business Program (BP) loans and grants
Further training is given through participation in activates, conferences, and events that market and support RD programs and services.
Receives training on and uses software and information systems to perform work assignments.
Shadows administrative or program professional as opportunities arise and when directed.
Consults with mentor on areas of interest to expand knowledge of business/program practices.
Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National for non-competitive conversion to a Career or Career-Conditional Appointment
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt
- Must be in good academic standing as defined by the agency as {define what has been established}
- Complete at least 640 hrs of work experience prior to completion of degree
- Enrolled at least half-time at a qualifying educational institution
- A signed participant agreement is required for employment under Pathways
- Satisfactory Background investigation and/or fingerprint check
- Successful completion of two-year trial period

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
For the GS-03 level: Applicants must have completed 1 full academic year of post-high school study.
For the GS-04 level: Applicants must have completed 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree.
At the undergraduate level, successfully completed education that has not led to possession of a degree is credited based on its relationship to 120 semester hours or 180 quarter hours. For example, 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours is comparable to 1 year of undergraduate education.
