Duties

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Producing, directing, editing, and operating video cameras, audio consoles, and video-projectors; Developing audio and video programs for airing on a closed circuit television and various educational settings within the hospital; Performing a variety of duties associated with photography, television, and video productions; Operating audiovisual equipment including digital photography cameras, video and audio recorders, microphones, and digital and analog video editing systems; Arranging lighting and sets used to convey an appropriate visual theme for productions; Selecting video footage and assembling, adjusting, and enhancing audio and video to create a finished production; Planning, operating, and maintaining professional audio and media systems in support of presentations in various auditoriums, lecture halls, and classrooms; Performing preventative maintenance checks and services of audio and media equipment; Performing related duties as required. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. Telework: VA supports the use of telework to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process. Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not authorized. Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GS-11: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in Federal service. Specialized experience includes: planning, organizing, and directing work associated with the production of audio/visual material; and demonstrating effective verbal and written communication skills. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. ~OR~ A Ph.D., equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position. One year of full-time graduate education is the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended. Transcripts required. ~OR~ An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of this position. Your experience must be detailed, and transcripts required. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: The work of this position requires some physical exertion during long periods of standing, recurring bending or stretching, pushing carts of supplies, or recurring lifting of moderately heavy equipment. Most work is accomplished in an office-type setting involving minimal discomfort or risk. Work may require special safety precautions and the use of protective masks, goggles, and gloves. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The employee is occasionally required to be outdoors for special events or interviews.
