This position is the Assistant Field Manager for Resources for the Roswell Field Office, Bureau of Land Management. The primary responsibility of the position is to provide direction in all phases of the organization's program, work responsibilities and authorities by providing supervision, leadership and guidance to staff.
Duties
Assist the Field Manager in providing leadership, motivation, direction and decisions required to implement and carry out multiple use and ecosystem management of major minerals and lands resources.
Direct and manage professional, technical and/or administrative work to carry out the mission of the field office.
Responsible for programming and annual budgeting submissions and ensure program accomplishment are within budget allocations.
Make resource management decisions on a variety of natural and cultural resources such as recreation, wildlife, wilderness, range management, threatened and endangered species, cultural/archeological resources, soil/water, and air, etc.
Form and lead collaborative efforts to address resource issues involving a variety of combinations of BLM personnel, stakeholders, interest groups and other government and state agency personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: (1) Natural resources program management; (2) Project or strategic planning and implementation; (3) Interdisciplinary public planning; (4) Partnering with public and private stakeholders; (5) Identifying issues, resolving conflicts and negotiating solutions.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).
