Duties
You will examine documents for accuracy, adequacy, and compliance with regulations for goods and services provided to or by the Government.
You will determine pay, payroll records maintenance and completion of reports pertaining to civilian employees of the Federal Government.
You will answer requests and provide advice to employees, supervisors, staff in other financial management series and personnel specialists on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures.
You will establish, maintain, correct and close pay accounts for active, reserve, or retired armed forces personnel and their annuitants.
You will perform technician work in support of budget analysis and administration such as maintain ledgers, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This is a Financial Management Level 01 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-05:
Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following: 1) Demonstrating experience performing data entry, utilizing MS Word and Excel; 2) Verifying and reviewing documents; 3) Reviewing, understanding, and complying with established policies and regulations; and 4) Demonstrating experience in customer service.
To Qualify for the GS-06:
Your resume must demonstrate: one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (GS-05) or grade level in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following:1) Utilizing Microsoft excel, word, and powerpoint.2) Basic financial transaction processing, credit card purchase coordination or reconciliation.3) Validating DTS orders or expenses.4) Processing/reviewing transactions in accounting system.5) Reconciling financial accounts.6) Reviewing financial data, and/or making recommendations for financial data corrections.
