You will serve as a CHIEF ENGINEER in the TRAINING SUPPORT VESSEL SQUADRON FOUR MANAGER CDR STRIKE FORCE TRNG ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will mange afloat life cycle policies and procedures and assist the Master in the management of the ships' operating budget You will oversee proper operation and maintenance of all ship's systems and is responsible for the preservations, safety and cleanliness of the Engine Department spaces and equipment. You will operate his/her assigned propulsion plant and auxillaries in compliance with manufacturer's recommendations, sound engineering practices and applicable laws and regulations. You will ensure all engine department personnel are familiar with the shipboard Environmental Pollution prevention program. You will direct engine room drills, direct and verify all engineering members of the ship's force know and understand the Main Space Fire Doctrine. You will ensure all new or replacement equipment installed onboard is ABS classed and be familiar with the requirements for ABS surveys in accordance with ABS rules for Building and Classing Steel Vessels.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Supervision of the engineering crew overseeing the operation and maintenance of all ships systems. Subject Matter Expert of shipboard machinery and propulsion systems. Oversee and execute routine and emergency repair and maintenance of shipboard machinery and propulsion systems. Provides leadership, guidance, mentoring and accurately evaluates the performance of others. Assists in the establishment and management of and adheres to the constraint of an annual operating budget, AND SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Do you hold a Current and Valid USCG License for Chief Engineer Steam or Motor Vessels, STCW License requirements: Chief Engineer 3,000 KW (4,000 HP) or more; Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (OICEW), Ratings Forming Part of an Engineering Watch (RFPEW), with at least 1 year remaining on licensing/STCW? Note: A copy of your License and/or certifications and any extensions authorized, must be provided.)
