The Program Assistant is aligned under the Health Administration Service (Business Office). The incumbent is responsible for participating in
coordination of initiatives, performance goals and design, development and implementation of strategies and actions related to the Business Office. The incumbent will plan, review, and report statistical information gathered from various sources and provide reports based on those
findings.
Duties
The Program Assistant is aligned under the Health Administration Service (Business Office). Duties include but are not limited to:
· Obtain required statistical data.
· Prepare required reports in accordance with guidelines.
· Develop operations and procedures for data collection.
· Determine mean, median and mode of statistical data.
· Develop criteria for audits.
· Develop written procedures and instructions for admissions, ward transfers and discharges.
· Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
· Report unusual discrepancies.
· Complete various cross reference mechanisms to assure accurate data collection.
· Prepare necessary layout of spreadsheets to derive reports and graphs.
· Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 08:00am to 4:30 pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/26/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: For the GS-07 level, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples include but are not limited to: experience with developing reports in accordance with guidelines; demonstrated skill in interpreting rules, regulations, policies and procedures; experience with auditing procedures; experience in communicating with individuals at all levels of an organization; experience analyzing reports and providing solutions. OR,
Education: There is generally no educational substitution for the GS-07 level. However, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.
Preferred Experience: Gathering statistical data, preparing logical and useful reports using statistical data, interpret statistical data for median, mode and, identifying anomalies within data sets, advance Excel skills and data entry.

Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary; however, some light lifting, under 15 pounds; light carrying, under 15 pounds walking; use of fingers will be required. Extended periods of time are spent at the computer, both entering and extracting information.
