Duties
The selectee will serve as a Supervisory Photographer in the Forensic Services Division. Typical work assignments include:
Processing and printing photosensitive materials by using either automated machine processing methods or antiquated chemical processing methods when necessary to obtain usable images from negatives or other film products in the department's archives.
Devising new methods and techniques in using equipment to acquire photo coverage and photo measurements on assignments.
Advising the Division Chief on the implications and feasibility of program plans, proposals, and recommendations.
Preparing and reviewing comprehensive recommendations regarding the development and/or modification of Section policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
Coordinating the work of photographers engaged in carrying out the various functions of the Digital Photography and Forensic Photography sections.
Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-14 level (starting salary $132,368.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-13 level performing the following duties:
Serving as a forensic photographer by capturing and preserving visual images to aid in protective and investigative activities;
Serving as a subject matter expert in the utilization of photography equipment, processes and techniques necessary to complete projects;
Working on resource requirements, plans and issues involved in implementing a photography program; and
Overseeing the work of subordinate staff (i.e. assigning work, developing performance standards, making authoritative decisions regarding personnel actions, etc.).
