You will serve as a Supply Technician in the Industrial Support Department of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK.

Duties

You will review requirements and ensures that requirements are forwarded to the applicable supply facility with the correct Military Standard Requisitioning and Issue Procedures (MILSTRIP) format. You will be the point of reference for naval ships and ashore activities pertaining to material ordering, tracking, expediting, and receipt. You will expedite urgent, emergent requirements for the repair of naval vessels and other production work. You will use government purchase cards to procure supplies, equipment, and services You will evaluate and monitor overall statistics and effectiveness of work operations in relation to material support objectives.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1)Coordinate actions between naval ships and ashore activities pertaining to material ordering, tracking, expediting, and receipt; 2) Determine the scope of the problem to resolve material discrepancies utilizing the best method (e.g., researching catalogs or online resources, or other technical data); and 3) Screen purchase requests to determine adequacy of documentation and purchase specifications (e.g., authorization, approval, authorized signatures, priority, required delivery date, and/or funding approval).
