About the Position: Located at Fort Eisenhower is approximately 139 miles east of Atlanta, GA; 80 miles southwest of Columbia, SC; 156 miles west of Charleston, SC; 175 miles southwest of Charlotte, NC; and 127 miles northwest of Savannah, Georgia. Fort Eisenhower's location is in the Augusta metropolitan area (also known as the Central Savannah River Area-CSRA) and is an easy drive to Atlanta, Savannah, Charleston, Charlotte, the beaches along the Atlantic Ocean, and the mountains.

Duties

Serves as a technical authority/expert and supervisor of Operations and Maintenance (O and M) Division for the Directorate of Public Works (DPW). Responsible for providing questionable variances/ information and coordinating findings with Operations and Maintenance (O and M) Chief to adjust costs, frequencies. Manage and evaluate the Utilities Privatization (UP) program contracts within the installation. Plan the annual activities for the O and M Division to provide maintenance and repair of all the installation buildings, structures, and facilities. Responsible for the performance management of assigned personnel to include performance appraisals, employee development, and mentoring for career progression. Provides technical guidance and mentoring to Operation and Maintenance engineers utilizing their skills in the development of design and construction management. Determine the accuracy of reports, and contracts are within the policies and regulations. Identify any discrepancies within the program segments to ensure the organization goals are met.

Combination of Education and Experience: College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. Written Test - Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination, or any other written test required for professional registration, by an engineering licensure board in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. 3. Specified academic courses - Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and that included the courses specified in A above. The courses must be fully acceptable toward meeting the requirements of an engineering program. 4. Related curriculum - Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience determining major and complex budget and long-range manpower requirements for facilities maintenance repair, municipal services and energy and utilities program. Experience overseeing contractor performance and compliance of municipal services contracts to ensure appropriate actions are being performed. Experience planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
