About the Position: The Military Entrance Processing Station plays a vital role in maintaining the nation's military might by ensuring that each new member of the Armed Forces: Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force & Coast Guard; meets the high mental, moral & medical standards required by the DoD & the military services. Every MEPS represents state of the art in testing, examining & processing applicants for enlistment into the Armed Forces. This position will be filled on a permanent basis.

Duties

Serve as Regional Manager for the Battalion Military Awards and Decorations Program and Civilian Honorary Awards Program. Administer and track training requirements for the Battalion. Perform a variety of management and administrative services essential to the operations of the geographically dispersed Battalion. Oversee identification, preparation, programming, execution, reprograming and justification of Battalion budget. Oversee contact administration for Battalion. Provide advice and guidance to Battalion Commander on personnel staffing, vacancy rates, and manning decisions. Prepare reports and present briefings to provide recommendations to inform the Battalion Commander of analysis results for use in decision-making processes.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service (GS-09 or equivalent.) Education Substitution: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position such as Business Management or Business Administration. Combination of Experience and Education Substitution for Specialized Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
