This position is in Office of Air and Radiation, Office of Transportation and Air Quality, Testing and Advanced Technology Division, Testing Services Center. Qualifications

We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below: To qualify for the GS-11 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-10 level defined as conducting set up and maintenance of electrical equipment used in testing vehicles and engines; maintenance of instrumentation, equipment and supplies used to support a laboratory; and troubleshooting vehicle and/or engine-related instrumentation or equipment in collaboration with engineers, technicians and contracts experts. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Knowledge of testing and sampling methods for producing environmental data; 2) Skill in developing practical non-standard development testing; 3) Skill in developing and modifying work methods, approaches, or procedures; 4) Skill in written communication; 5) Skill in maintaining laboratory and/or field equipment; 6) Ability to define training objectives; 7) Skill in oral communication; 8) Skill in extracting information from instruments for analysis. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
