Duties

Selectees will be in a non-pay/non-duty status for at least 2 weeks to 6 months per year based on project requirements, funding, weather conditions, or road closures. The typical season for this position at the Devils Postpile National Monument in this is approximately May through November, with the remainder of the year in a non-pay status or working at other National Park Service units. Selectee may have the opportunity to spend the majority of the Devil's Postpile off-season (4-6 months) working for Devils Postpile National Monument or working and living at sister park Yosemite, Death Valley National Park, or other park units based on their project requirements and funding. A minimum two weeks of non-pay/non-duty status will be required regardless. Duties Maintains, test, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate utility systems. Repairs and operates utility systems such as water, wastewater, air conditioning, heating, electrical, septic, plumbing, compressed air, vacuum, and gas. Knowledge of water treatment equipment operation, installation, and repair to meet acceptable water treatment standards. Knowledge of project management in order to assist in the administration and compliance of utility related projects.
