About the Position: This position is located at Evans Army Community Hospital (EACH), Fort Carson, CO. NOTE: Competition for Security Guard positions is restricted by law to persons entitled to veterans' preference as long as such applicants are available for appointment.

Duties

Serve as the shift leader with responsibility for leading 5-6 security guards on 3 shifts, 24 hours a day, 7 days per week basis. Develop schedules and shift training plans, based on requirements identified by the Chief, Security. Participate in the interview, selection and orientation/certification of new employees. Provide on-the-job training as required. Assign work and assure that all employees meet scheduled and priority assignments established by the Chief, Security.

Requirements

  • This position requires successful completion of semiannual weapons and taser qualification testing.
  • This position requires the incumbent to wear protective body armor.
  • This position requires a minimum Secret security clearance. The incumbent must remain eligible for the required clearance at all times while serving in this position.
  • This position requires an initial medical examination and annual thereafter.
  • This position requires a pre-employment drug test and random drug testing thereafter.
  • This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
  • This position requires rotating shifts which may include evenings, weekends, holidays and/or overtime.
  • This position is an Inclement Weather Essential position.
  • This position is a Mission Essential position.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid drivers license.
  • Must pass an initial and annual physical agility/ability test.
  • This position requires the incumbent to wear uniform and/or protective clothing.
  • This position may require an immunization screening.
