Job opening: ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

You will serve as a Engineering Technician in the Public Works Dept, Prod Division of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.

Duties

You will be responsible for managing the utilities data bases on asset criticality and Condition Rating of the asset. You will examine work requests orders, sketches, blueprints, and other specifications in support of the UICAP program. You will serve as a point of contact for UEM-iNFADS related to questions or problems of a technical nature. You will identify, evaluate, and develop resolutions to complex interrelated issues. You will use asset management and maintenance software (e.g., Maximo) to prepare and submit data on work request.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Preparing detailed statements of work necessary to identify maintenance and repair of utilities systems; 2) Performing inspections to determine the exact utility system conditions; 3) Coordinating, conducting, and tracking utility condition assessments; and 4) Providing utilities data to managers and staff in order to prioritize preventive maintenance, execute planned/unplanned mission expectations, and quantify project package data calls.
