Duties
You will direct plant operations during a supervisor's absence to maintain safe and efficient plant operation.
You will train junior employees on the procedures for maintenance and repair of diesel engines, electrical equipment, oil centrifuges, motor controls, governors, and air compressors.
You will perform operational maintenance, repair, and overhaul on plant equipment (e.g., steam and pressure boilers, boiler and chemical feed pumps, water pumps) for optimal operation of a central energy plant.
You will diagnose deteriorating conditions in an energy plant to determine corrective actions before plant failure.
You will interpret computer display data to direct plant personnel in performing corrective actions.
You will monitor load indicator gauges to detect changes in electrical load across the distribution system from the main supply to facilities.
You will follow emergency procedures to maintain safety and provide continuous electric service.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Annual-Cardio-Pulmonary-Resusitation cert certification.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Incumbent must be able to work both indoors and outside for long periods of time under emergency conditions.
- Incumbent must be able to climb and work in crowded spaces.
Qualifications
