About the position: This position will be assigned to the Auto Hobby Shop on Ellsworth AFB. This position is considered regular full time. You are guaranteed 35 hours, however could work up to 40 hours per week. As a regular employee you are eligible to earn leave and other NAF Benefits.

Duties

Plans, directs, and coordinates the work of the Auto Hobby staff.Establishes financial goals. Responsible for the preparation of Appropriated and Nonappropriated fund budgets. Prepares weekly and daily financial status reports and monthly car wash harvest. Performs marketing efforts involving day-to-day operations. Receives and resolves customer complaints and requests for special services. Recommends the best methods and techniques to use in accomplishing repairs which involved but are not limited to: replacement of cylinders, pistons, rings, valves, ignition malfunctions, alignment, adjustments vehicles electrical systems repairs to automatic transmissions and/ or other troubles or power train and drive mechanisms. Conducts both formal and on-the-spot training for Auto Hobby staff and patrons. Prepares reports required by EPA. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience which has demonstrated the ability to manage a business activity, which includes planning activities, managing a budget, sale an inventory of equipment and supplies, marketing of events, and providing patron services. Must have work experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise and train subordinate staff to be able to support activities and programs. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the general experience, applicant must have working knowledge and skill of automotive maintenance and repair. Must have skills in the use of various types of automotive equipment repair tools and special diagnostic equipment; knowledge of theory, care and operation of internal combustion engines; ability to diagnose mechanical malfunctions and determine appropriate repairs to be performed. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
