You will serve as a PHYSICAL SCIENTIST in the ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING BRANCH of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.

Duties
You will assist the Air Quality Section Head in the implementation and oversight of air quality programs.
You will review and interpret regulations, recommend and coordinate air quality studies and programs, monitor emissions and emissions sources, and assist in required action to ensure Base compliance with air quality mandates.
You will coordinate and communicate with regulatory agencies for non-policy air quality matters.
You will review National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents and environmental aspects of construction and repair projects, evaluate air emissions calculations for conformity analysis and provide comments as necessary.
You will evaluate revised environmental standards for implementation of requirements and serve as a technical representative at workshops sponsored by the air pollution regulatory agencies.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting in planning, coordinating, developing and providing oversight on Air Quality programs; AND reviewing, interpreting and recommending solutions to ensure compliance with air quality management regulatory mandates.

Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
Or
Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
