In this position, you will serve as the Environmental Protection Specialist for Regional Offices, Region Nine, Mitigation Division, Environmental and Historic Preservation Branch. The ideal candidate has experience interpreting historic preservation and cultural resource laws and regulations and experience reviewing projects for compliance and applying solutions for addressing adverse impacts for complex projects.

Qualifications

All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. To qualify for this position at the IC-11 level (starting salary $85,508), you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-09 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following:  Administering, monitoring, or maintaining appropriate records and systems;  Analyzing agency programs to advise management on the operations' effectiveness; and  Conveying environmental and historical preservation policy and program concepts to technical and non-technical managers.  ORPh.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if relatedORCombination of education and experience. To qualify for this position at the IC-12 level (starting salary $102,489), you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following:  Performing investigations, inspections, reviews, or assessments involving diverse aspects of environmental planning or historic preservation compliance protection;  Applying environmental planning or historic preservation regulations, policies, or principals at either the federal, state, local, tribal, non-profit organization, or private sector level; and  Developing procedural material to enhance Environmental Historic Preservation compliance capabilities.
