This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Deputy Commandant of Mission Support, Director of Operational Logistics, Base Guam, Apra, Guam.
Duties
You will serve as the Executive Director to the Base Commanding Officer (CO) and as Acting Base Commanding Officer in the CO's absence. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.

Qualifications
Qualifications for GS-13: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level is required. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Serving as a senior management leader/supervisor, responsible for ensuring the logistical requirements of an organization are met; planning/coordinating and evaluating various operations to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of a logistics program. Evaluating plans for and provision of logistical support for feasibility, efficiency, and economy, and to develop alternatives when required. Areas of knowledge and skill should include experience with budget formulation and forecasting of expenditures, acquisition management, resource management; contracting/Procurement, transportation, distribution, inventory management and control, and warehouse operations.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
