Duties
The incumbent will serve as an Administrative Specialist in the Sensor Science Division (SSD). In this capacity, the incumbent will:
Contribute to the management and processing of cost allocations, ensuring responsible use of funds and timely payments.
Provide guidance, advice, analytical oversight and recommendations to Administrative Officer on administrative and financial matters to include tracking and reporting for travel, time and attendance, awards, co-operative agreement, purchase card and acquisitions.
Contribute to training of admin staff on various admin procedures.
Use detailed knowledge of and critical thinking in regards to spending trends.
Make recommendations to resolve financial problems with the division and submit documentation to correct errors.
Learn to independently and reliably maintain, troubleshoot, and improve internal processes with minimal oversight.
Conceive, plan, and conduct administrative assignments utilizing the most current policies and procedures ensuring adherence to regulations.
Advise supervisor/management and stakeholders on daily operations, awards status, disruptions in service, human resources policies/procedures in areas such as staffing, classification, pay, leave and performance.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level (ZA-I at NIST) in the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing a variety of administrative support utilizing agency policies and procedures and experience analyzing financial and solvency data.
OR
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
