You will serve as a Technical Information Specialist in the Logistical Technical Data Branch (TRF-431), Maintenance Management Division (TRF-430), Planning Department (TRF-400), and TRIDENT Refit Facility (TRIREFFAC) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Duties

You will serve as a Technical Information Specialist responsible for functions concerning the acquisition, maintenance, stowage, and distribution of logistic technical data (LTD) associated with meeting OHIO Class submarine logistics support. You will coordinate the technical review, analysis, and updating of assigned OHIO Class submarine systems/equipment LTD. You will direct the continuous acquisition and organization of the latest LTD to ensure that technically accurate LTD is readily available to users. You will perform continuous yearly audit of all LTD technical manuals and materials to ensure accuracy and timeliness of documents. You will direct the ordering, receipt and control of all multi-media data/documentation necessary to support efficient TRIREFFAC Technical Libraries operations.

  • This position requires the use if protective devices, clothing and or equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats, and safety shoes.
  • This position required periods of standing, vertical climbing, stooping, and moving in and out of areas of close confinement.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain IT- II level designation.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for a GS-1412-09, TECHNICAL INFORMATION SPECIALISTin addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Experience performing audits on all Logistics Technical Data (LTD) technical manuals and materials for accuracy. 2. Experience coordinating and scheduling bi-weekly inventory of all Logistics Technical Data (LTD). 3. Experience providing technical advice and guidance on LTD matters. 4. Experience handling the maintenance, acquisition, stowage and distribution of Logistics Technical Data (LTD). 5. Experience analyzing inventory results and preparing annual audit reports. 6. Experience ensuring classified material is properly cataloged and stored. 7. Experience instructing others on proper Logistics Technical Data (LTD) maintenance and acquisition. 8. Experience maintaining data and storage of unclassified CD Rooms in a separate multi-binder library. To qualify for a GS-1412-07, TECHNICAL INFORMATION SPECIALISTin addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Experience ensuring classified material is properly cataloged and stored. 2. Experience assisting others on proper Logistics Technical Data (LTD) maintenance and acquisition. 3. Experience coordinating and scheduling bi-weekly inventory of all Logistics Technical Data (LTD). 4. Experience assisting with the stowage and distribution of Logisitics Technical Data (LTD). 5. Experience handling the maintenance, acquisition, stowage and distribution of Logistics Technical Data (LTD). Education (for GS-5 positions): A full 4-year course of study that meets all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in the subject-matter field of the position to be filled.

Experience (for GS-5 positions): Four years of experience that provided a knowledge of the basic principles, theories, practices, techniques, and terminology of a discipline or subject-matter field; an understanding of the standard methods, procedures, and techniques of research and analysis in the subject-matter field; and where appropriate, ability to read and comprehend nontechnical material in one or more foreign languages. Such experience must have been equivalent to that which would have been gained through a 4-year college curriculum.

A combination of education and experience as described above.

One full year of graduate level education related to the position or superior academic achievement.

For GS-09:

Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education or master's or equivalent graduate degree, e.g., LL.B. or J.D., related to the position
