This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing within CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE. As a Training Specialist, you will work to ensure employees are trained and effective in their roles and embrace a continuous learning culture and will be responsible for training goals and objectives. You will also handle the day-to day experience of new hires as they transition from new employee orientation through training to full production.
Duties
As a Training Specialist, you will:
Initiate training program planning, curriculum development, and conduct training/learning program continuous improvement.
Design and develop training courses and/or development programs for employees in craft and non-craft roles with key subject matter interfaces.
Handle timely and accurate maintenance of student records and entry of attendance, assessment, goals, and other data as needed.
Design and execute global and individual development plans.
Deliver manufacturing initial orientation (to the workplace) program and update training material to keep current with revised processes, procedures, work instructions, new topics, and techniques.
Facilitate trainings/classes, conduct training, schedule speakers to conduct technical or job specific training (if required); create innovative approaches and ideas for sustaining and improving the training and learning within the Manufacturing Directorate.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
-Assisting with administering a training program; AND
-Utilizing a Learning Management System; AND
-Updating training materials in alignment with an established curriculum; AND
-Planning competency-based assessments to develop a master training plan; AND
-Maintaining training registration records and communicating updates with registrants.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.
