Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately February thru December, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.

Duties
Supports resource-based education and community outreach efforts. The incumbent will research, develop, and conduct curriculum-based programming for children which are accurate in content, highly interactive, involve diverse teaching techniques and approaches, and align with State Core Curriculum Standards.
Research, plan, and develop educational materials and media including program outlines, teacher guides, evaluation tools, video-casts, and web-based distance learning resources.
Schedules on and offsite educational and outreach presentations for school groups.
Plans, develops, organizes, leads and evaluates the effectiveness of outdoor field science and resource education programs and activities.
Engages students in educational lessons and activities from established curricula for the park's residential program for grades 4 - 8.
Develop and present classroom and outdoor field -based curricula with standards-based content, education methodology, and group-management that spans over multiple days.
Qualifications

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (may be obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: delivering educational programs to youth as an environmental educator, interpreter, guide, or teacher. You must include hours per week worked.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least one full year of graduate level education (one year of full-time graduate education is considered to be 18 semester credits) directly related to the work of the position. Examples of directly related education include environmental education, primary or secondary education, geology, biology, history or other closely related subjects. You must include transcripts.

For example, 6 months of specialized experience (50% of the experience) and 9 graduate level semester hours (50% of the education), would qualify an applicant for this position. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
