This National Guard position is for an INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, Position Description Number NGD1660000 and is part of 114 OSS FLT. This is an Indefinite, Title 32, Dual-Status position. AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: - Members of the South Dakota Air National Guard and those eligible to become a member. *** Indefinite Tenure- May be converted to Permanent per management discretion.***

Duties

As an INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, GS-0132-11, you will: This position is located in the Intelligence function of the Operations Group at an Air National Guard (ANG) flying unit. The primary purpose of the position is to perform specialized duties and to train assigned military unit members in the duties and functions associated with operational intelligence. Provides detailed intelligence analysis for mission planning, aircrew briefings and debriefings. Trainer and task certifier for intelligence systems, order of battle maintenance, mission planning, threat analysis, and GI&S support. In addition, the incumbent performs complex intelligence analysis of all pertinent threat weapons systems and geopolitical conditions that could impact the unit's mission success. This position requires a comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices.

Qualifications

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Enlisted up to MSgt may apply. Selected individual must be assigned to a compatible military position in the following AFSC upon date of hire: 1N0X1. Aptitude scores can be checked on the vMPF or at the Customer Service in the Force Support Squadron and physical profile in the medical squadron. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which demonstrates administrative, professional, investigative, or technical work requiring the ability to deal effectively with others, to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts. Experience preparing clear and concise written reports. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience in the KSAs listed below. Experience, education or training developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations. Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others. Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices. Skill in developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations. Skill in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others. Skill in collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports. ** NOTE ** This is a temporary appointment with Indefinite tenure. Management reserves the right to convert this appointment to a permanent position without further competition and will discuss this option with applicants selected for interviews. Person selected for the position may be terminated at any time, upon 30-day written notice. If an On-Board, Title 5, Excepted Service Employee is selected for this position, their status will change to that of this appointment, and they will not be returned to their permanent position.
