This position is located at Four Corners Regional Health Center, Division of Administrative Services, Business Office Section. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a major segment of the accounts receivable support function through the follow-up process on all outstanding patient accounts within the Business Office. The incumbent works under the supervision of the Supervisory Health System Specialist.

Duties

Review patient accounts to determine the status of account and make standard adjustments that require special analysis and prepares and processes a variety of documents necessary for the maintenance and follow-up of all outstanding patient accounts. Review delinquent patient account records, follows up with responsible parties via telephone and correspondence according to organizational internal control policy. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports utilizing Accounts Receivable program; efficiently handle and maintain daily workload in accordance with established work flow process. Perform the full range of technical duties regarding the authorization and re-processing of claims for payment. Provide technical direction to other Business Office staff.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):One (1) year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level. OR 4 years of education above high school. OR A combination of both education and experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks. Examples include: utilizing diverse accounting and patient business procedures, governing a wide variety of patient accounts to analyze and determine the need for, and type of adjustments necessary to reconcile and balance accounts. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
