DUTY LOCATION: Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF), Windsor Locks, CT
AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION:
Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the Connecticut Army National Guard.
Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members of the Connecticut Army National Guard.
Duties
JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to provide services in support of inventory control, storage, and distribution, cataloging or supply identification systems, property utilization, or other related supply activities including those associated with automated or manual supply accounting systems.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Army National Guard.
The major duties include, but are not limited to:
Reviews existing stock catalogs, drawings, etc., for the purpose of identifying duplicate items already cataloged or otherwise recorded in the supply system.
Assures production support for items requiring special handling.
Responsible for inventory management of decentralized and decontrolled items, including supplies, equipment, forms, and publications.
Maintains contact with program representatives and other off ices on special program requirements.
Reviews requisitions, supporting documents, and reference material to determine special supply action required.
Requirements
- National Guard Membership is required.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- Must meet Compatible Military Assignment within one year from placement.
- Wear of the military uniform is mandatory.
- Direct Deposit is mandatory.
- Must obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess 9 months of specialized experience in the following:
Experience, education, or training which demonstrates knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment.
Experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for routine supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts.
Experience performing routine aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of requisitions, supporting documents and reference material to determine supply or special supply action required.
Knowledge of established supply regulations policies and procedures, or other governing supply management guidelines to perform inventory management of decentralized and decontrolled items.
Knowledge of requirements determination and forecasting, distribution or redistribution of material, procurement authorization, and limited funds managements.
COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: All applications will be considered regardless of Branch/AOC/FA/MOS. Incumbent will be required to be assigned to compatible military position within 1 year of selection. The selected individual may be required to attend formal technician school training.

UNIT OF ASSIGNMENT: Any aviation unit within the state
