You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN in the PRODUCT DIVISION of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will contact vendors to obtain or negotiate prices, delivery, discount terms, transportation, or other order provisions. You will monitor supply orders to ensure delivery of product to the customer. You will speak to a customer regarding inquiries on the status of requisitions, delivery of material, and other supply related questions. You will prepare reports to inform management of supply inventory or supply orders.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting extensive searches for required information and to provide supply support to meet urgent requirements for specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and material; 2) Utilizing automated supply systems/programs to obtain information, documents and reports; 3) Communicating effectively with vendors and customers to clarify requirements, prioritize work, negotiate cost and delivery terms, obtain and provide status, expedite material, and resolve problems. AND 4) Preparing and maintaining records, reconcile reports/data, research and reconcile discrepancies relating to actions such as material ordering, shipping, tracking, receipt and invoices.
