You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (OA) of RLSO SE JACKSONVILLE.

Duties

You will provide routine information or assistance on administrative matter (e.g., printing, directives, forms, publications, military leave setup, safety, telephones, building access, check in procedures, and supply acquisitions. You will prepare administrative forms or routine correspondence. You will maintain Naval message function by drafting, releasing, and routing Naval messages. You will serve as the Command Pay/Personnel Administrator (CPPA) as the connection between the military member, the command, and the supporting personnel support organization.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following: Composing correspondence and administrative forms (e.g. travel orders, security paperwork, requisitions, etc.) using proper grammar, spelling, and formatting; Processing and tracking supply orders; Maintaining internal and external directives, command records/files in accordance with official filing and purging procedures; Gathering data from databases to produce recurring reports and statistic information; Utilizing software programs, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher, and Access), to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and maintain documents. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
