About the Position: Position is located at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, Language Proficiency Assessment Directorate, Presidio of Monterey, California.

Duties

Studies results of data analysis and develops graphic, tabular, and narrative descriptions. Carries out or participates in the data collection process for established training programs and special training events. Reviews and evaluates open-ended survey responses using established review protocols and standards. Prioritizes and expedites responses for higher-level review and action. Compiles and reviews data using established approaches and computerized techniques. Applies computerized statistical procedures to test for significant relationships among variables or differences among groups. Administers surveys, questionnaires, checklist, and interview protocols for established resident and non-resident training programs. Develops detailed specifications, logs, and instructions for data collection, entry, analysis, interpretation, and reporting routines. Maintains files and inventory of statistical reports in accordance with established security procedures.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing data verification by applying standard statistical methods and/or collecting data for surveys. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08) OR Education: Two years (i.e., 60 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Data Analytics or Statistics. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsData Analysis and Decision MakingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).
