About the Position: Serve as a designated Quality Assurance Evaluator (QAE) for the Directorate of Public Works. This is a PERMANENT Quality Assurance Specialist position with the Directorate of Public Works located at Fort Jackson, SC.
Duties
Serve as Installation Pest Management Coordinator (IPMC).
Assure protection of government assets and loss of property.
Conduct daily quality assurance checks of work performed.
Participate in formal and/or informal conferences, meetings, and discussions as related to incumbent's area of expertise.
Maintain continuous liaison and recommendations to the Contracting Officer.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain the Pest Control Certification within one year of hire.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This is an Inclement Weather position. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a DoD Pest Managment Certification in categories 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8 within one year of hire and recertify every three years.
- Incumbent must obtain DoD Accreditation by taking the Installation Pest Management Coordinator (IPMC)/Pest Management Quality Assurance Evaluator (PMQAE) course located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas within one year of hire.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience including evaluating policies and procedures to assure contractor compliance to communicate deficiencies, monitoring pesticide inspections and accounting for proper payment and rejection of services received. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
