This Office Director/CIO position is located in the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Office of the Executive Director, Office of the Chief Technology Officer (DS/EX/CTO). As the law enforcement and security arm of the U.S. Department of State, the Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS) is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for the conduct of U.S. foreign policy. The incumbent of this position will report directly to the Bureau’s Executive Director.
Duties
The DS/EX/CTO Office provides effective information resource management to maximize the accessibility and utility of information for DS personnel and stakeholders through excellence in service delivery, program management, and innovative technology applications. The Office Director serves as the bureau's Chief Information Officer and principal advisor to DS senior leadership, to include the Assistant Secretary, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, and Executive Director on matters related to establishing mission-driven, bureau-wide data management, improving data-driven decision making, and enhancing enterprise data governance, and information technology design, development, testing, maintenance, training, and implementation. - U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
- Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
- Requires a financial disclosure statement, OGE-278.
- One year probationary period, unless excepted by regulation.
- Verification of employment eligibility in the United States is required.
Qualifications

Your experience and resume should explicitly demonstrate the following:
MTQ 1: Demonstrated experience leading a large-scale information technology services organization supporting a geographically dispersed workforce that includes serving as a customer-focused, strategic partner with senior leadership to solve complex IT issues and to deliver high-profile IT projects within tight deadlines and budgets.
MTQ 2: Demonstrated experience in communicating, advocating, and negotiating complex information technology issues with senior leadership in the organization or agency, as well as with senior officials in the law enforcement, international affairs, and intelligence communities domestically and abroad, members of the media, and the general public.
