Duties

You will overhaul or rebuild an engine or transmission in a vehicle (automobile, truck, bus, tractor). You will troubleshoot and repair standard electronic components of systems. You will perform routine diagnostic inspections of vehicle operating systems to determine the type and extent of repair needed. You will perform routine preventive maintenance on automotive tools and equipment. You will use test or measurement devices (e.g., depth gauges, battery hydrometers, timing lights, multimeters, tachometers) to assist in the evaluation of engine or equipment problems. You will use work orders and manuals to determine type and extent of repairs needed. You will schedule preventative maintenance on automotive equipment.

Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
