Basic Requirements: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled. Other Education: Communications/electronics or automatic data processing training in technical institutes or business schools above the high school level or in Armed Forces schools that included advanced instruction in addition to basic courses, may be substituted for general experience on a month-for-month basis OR; Experience: Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience in evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology. In addition to the Basic Requirements above, you must meet the following qualifications listed below: To qualify for thisTelecommunications Specialist position at the IC-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal, State, Local, Tribal, Territorial, or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following: Collaborating with outside agencies such as Federal, State, or Local government, the private sector, or non-governmental agencies to achieve goals; Providing input for the development and execution of communications strategies related to emergency planning; and Preparing analyses of technical data derived for various sources to identify telecommunications requirements.
