You will serve as a SECRETARY (TYPING) on the COMMAND AND STAFF of NAVSTA GREAT LAKES IL.
Duties
You will maintain a systematic tickler system, monitoring status, notifying an appropriate action service member and staff, to ensure deadlines are being met for outgoing responses, reports, and inputs.
You will greet visitors and callers and determine the nature of request to refer to the appropriate staff.
You will act as liaison for travelers by making travel arrangements, preparing travel orders, and completing travel vouchers.
You will maintain an office staff calendar in Microsoft Outlook or similar programs to schedule meetings or conferences.
You will prepare a variety of material into draft or final form to ensure correct assembly, arrangement, spacing, grammar, and spelling of the final product.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Receiving phone calls, greeting visitors, and responding to routine requests for information; 2) Prioritizing requests for information and status inquiries to ensure office goals are met; 3) Maintaining an office calendar, scheduling appointments, and arranging meetings for executives and superiors while avoiding conflicts; 4) Preparing correspondence using correct grammar, spelling, capitalization, format, and punctuation in compliance with established procedures and regulations; and 5) Utilizing appropriate social etiquette and protocol when interacting with high-ranking officials and VIPs. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
