Duties

Analyze clinical administrative practices and direct appropriate adjustment to improve access to care, maximize productivity and reduce costs. Formulate and implement strategies for clinical practice problem resolution. Assign, direct, and evaluate work of the subordinate personnel. Develop performance standards and identify and fulfill the training needs of subordinates. Serve as Center’s liaison for coordination of Information Technology support and assistant.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 1 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
• One year supervisory probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: administrative, clinical management, or supervisory experience in the health care field; performing work in an operating health care facility; providing advisory, directional or leadership over facility; Utilizing financial systems to plan and execute budgets. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
